No se como paso esto pero… extraño el verano. El otoño me tiene en estado de confusión con sus cambios de temperatura. Como nostálgica que soy, voy a compartir una lista de canciones que me acompañaron este entretenido (y horriblemente caluroso) verano que paso. No esperen nada estrictamente «veraniego» jijiji.
Además hace tiempo que quería recomendar artistas coreanos que salieran un poco de la etiqueta del K-pop (en el sentido de que no fueran grupos creados por compañías) pero no sabia como darle un sentido a la lista (el estilo de música es variado), lo del verano es una buena excusa, no?.

So I’m back (months later hahaha I took a long vacation) with my first all english post (YAY before my language skills gets too rusty) about a korean pop singer that has grown to be one of my favourite singer-songwriter these years, Lee Ji Eun, known as IU.
As you may know or not (‘cause I only write in spanish duh) my start with korean music wasn’t K-pop. Back in 2007-08 I really got into the korean indie scene (which I still hold dear to my heart) and I didn’t pay any attention to the chart-topping mainstream music that was popular back then in korea, I kind of knew names but… nope it wasn’t for me yet haha.
Anyway back then IU’s name started to pop out in the indie and underground scene because of her sweet yet mature voice for a 15 year old. She used to do a lot of covers, really nice covers, with just her guitar and voice in music shows where only musicians were invited. Now that I think about it, that was a smart strategy… hahaha. So she got me, I loved her covers, but her music at the time still wasn’t completely my style so I waited… and a couple of years later I became a fan.
Since her popularity boom in 2010, all her singles have been well known (she is an chart-topping artist to this day) but many of her album songs or b-tracks from her early years are still unknown (specially in the international K-pop fandom) so to celebrate the release of her new album Palette, I selected my favourite non-singles songs from her debut in 2008 to 2012 to share with the world muahahah.

Ugly duckling (미운 오리; Miun Ori)
First song of her first mini album. It’s a nice melancholic acoustic pop song that reminds me of older songs, specially the way she sings in her lower register. The lyrics are good. Probably one of her favourites too, she keeps singing it.

1er album de este duo coreano de folk/rock . El nombre de la banda puede ser escrito como Bluedawn o 푸른새벽 (pronunciado: pureun saebyeok)
*nota: Las bandas koreanas tienden (o por lo menos las que yo conozco) a tener un nombre en inglés y otro en coreano (yo generalmente uso el inglés).
El primer álbum es sencillo pero bien cuidado en los pequeños detalles y me ha encantado; el CD tiene presente en todos lo temas el sello característico de Bluedaw: un sonido melancólico, cálido, suave y hermoso.
Info:
Los integrantes son Dawn (한희정; Han Hee Jeong) en voz, guitarra acústica y teclado; y Sorrow (정상훈; Jeong Sang Hun) en guitarra eléctrica, guitarra acústica y voz. Ambos se encargaban de la composición, letras y arreglos de todas las canciones.
Bluedawn se separó luego de lanzar su 3er disco (a finales del 2006), pero Han Hee Jeong lanzó recientemente su primer disco como solista (es un disco precioso *-*), asi que no se desanimen si ya les gusto la banda.
